Rep. Kelly Condemns SCOTUS Decision on Louisiana Maps

Rep. Kelly stood on the House floor to condemn the Supreme Court’s decision in Louisiana v. Callais, which weakens Section 2 of the Voting Rights Act and strips away critical protections against racial discrimination in voting. This is about more than maps or districts. It’s about silencing Black voters and undermining fair representation—especially in the South. I will continue to fight: on the floor, in committee, in the courts, and in every space where our democracy is being challenged. The Congressional Black Caucus will not back down. We will work to pass the John Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act and protect Black voices in this country.
